CEER Researchers Work on Fuel Cell ImpactCEER faculty member Dr. Xingwu Wang, professor of Electrical Engineering at Alfred, is using CEER funding from the EPA to study the environmental impact of fuel cell power generation systems for residential and commercial applications of10 KW or less. His goal is to develop a clean and quiet electrical fuel cell power generation unit. He will do this by developing a fuel processor subsystem that can convert the natural gas to hydrogen without generating carbon-oxygen compounds such as carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide; and that can decompose methane into hydrogen and solid carbon without the production of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. For more information about Dr. Wang's research, visit http://ceer.alfred.edu/research/fuelcell.html. | ||
